| Validation of the binding between information and the information producer’s identity allows the operating system to recognize and appropriately handle information with altered identity bindings. Without validation, forged identity bindings may not be recognized, undermining trust in the bindings. The validation of bindings can be achieved, for example, by the use of cryptographic checksums. |
